About the Consumer Energy Report Card

The Consumer Energy Report Card survey is a nationally representative survey conducted for us six-monthly by SEC Newgate. It aims to understand Australian energy consumers':

  • Priorities, needs and values
  • Information sources and communication preferences
  • Engagement with the energy system, and the relationship they want to have with it
  • Views towards the energy industry, energy pricing and market competition
  • Satisfaction with their energy suppliers
  • Attitudes towards key energy issues, including home electrification, the renewable energy transition and new technologies

To accompany each survey, Energy Consumers Australia releases analysis reports, deep diving into particular issues for consumers. We also release the full topline data (anonymised) so anyone with an interest in energy consumer policy can use it in their own research. The survey methodology is published here.
