We support the proposed changes to seek an amendment to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)'s Metrology Procedure, to discontinue the requirements for controlled load profiles and sample meters in South Australia.
We recognise that the requirement for the development of a controlled load profile for South Australia has limited ongoing value and will become redundant in coming years, considering the accelerated rollout of smart meters. In the short term, it will also become increasingly costly for diminishing value, which will likely be passed through to consumers.
